Privacy Policy
Contactooor lets you design a digital contact card and share it, and scan paper business cards into your contacts. It is free and has no user accounts. This policy explains what happens to your information.
What stays on your device
The cards you create (names, titles, companies, phone numbers, emails, websites, addresses, notes, and any photo or logo) are stored only on your device. We do not have an account system and cannot see the cards you keep on your phone.
When you share a card
When you generate a QR code, add a card to Apple Wallet, or open its web link, that card's details and images are uploaded to our servers so we can create the shareable web page, the downloadable contact file (vCard), and the Wallet pass. Each shared card lives at an unguessable link and is not listed or indexed anywhere.
A shared copy is kept until you delete the card in the app (which deletes the shared copy) or change the card's content (which replaces the previous shared copy). Anyone you give the link or QR code to can view that card and save it as a contact, so only share it with people you intend to.
Scanning a business card
Scanning uses your camera, and the text is recognised on your device. Scanned details stay on your device and are not uploaded; nothing is saved until you review the fields and choose to add them to your Contacts.
Permissions we ask for
- Camera: to scan a paper business card.
- Contacts: to prefill your own card and to save cards you scan.
- Photos: to add a photo, logo, or background to your card.
These are used on your device and only when you choose the relevant action.
What we don't do
No advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no third-party analytics, and we never sell your information. Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and request time) needed to run the service securely, and shared cards and their images are stored on that provider's global network.
Your rights
You can remove a shared card at any time by deleting the card in the app. If you are in the EU/EEA, you also have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. To make a request, contact andreas@andreaskitsios.com.
Children
Contactooor is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
